Smart wearable device need huge passive components

Agency: Q3 global shipments of wearable wristband devices totaled 51 million units, an increase of 4%, and

watches increased by 20%

According to statistics from research organization Canalys, in the third quarter of 2023. global shipments of

smart wearable wristband devices (smart bracelets, smart watches) reached 51 million units, a year-on-year

increase of 4%. Led by the Indian market, Q3 global basic smartwatch shipments increased by 20%

year-on-year, making it the only subcategory to achieve year-on-year growth. In terms of manufacturer rankings,

Apple still ranks first with a 17% share, but its shipments fell by 12% year-on-year; Xiaomi ranked second with a

12% share, and its shipments increased by 39% year-on-year, among which Xiaomi Mi Band 8 ranked second.

Sales in overseas markets drove shipment performance.

The recovery of Huawei's mobile phone business has further strengthened its ecosystem, driving Huawei's 

wearable device shipments to increase by 45% year-on year, and ranking third with a market share of 10%. 

Thanks to the new iteration of Galaxy Watch 6. Samsung returned to fourth place with a share of 8%. 

The fifth is the Indian brand Fire Boltt, which has grown rapidly in the Indian market, with shipments 

increasing by 53% year-on-year.

Looking at different markets, Xiaomi's smart wearable wristband devices rank first in Africa and Latin America, 

with a market share of 20%. Apple ranks first in the Middle East, Western Europe, and North America.

In the Chinese market, in Q3 2023. Huawei ranked first with a share of 34%, an increase of 57%; followed by

Xiaomi, with a market share of 24%; XTC (Little Genius) ranked third with a share of 10%. Apple and OPPO

rank fourth and fifth respectively in the Chinese market.
